Dan Bongino
Daniel John Bongino is an American conservative political commentator, radio show host, and author. He served as a New York City Police Department officer from 1995 to 1999, and as a Secret Service agent from1999 to 2011.
Bongino is a contributor to The Hill, Newsmax TV and formerly served as a host on the Fox Business Network. Bongino was the Republican candidate in the 2012 election for Maryland’s 6th congressional district, losing to incumbent Democratic Representative John Delaney.
Bongino has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump since early in the 2016 presidential campaign. In May 2016, Bongino announced his support for Donald Trump for president after previously endorsing Ted Cruz. He has since been described as “one of the most persistent and effective pro-Trump voices”.
Bongino was an early supporter of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, praising him as early as December 2015 and officially endorsing Trump just three months later. A former Secret Service agent, Bongino was critical of the Republican establishment and the media for their treatment of Trump. He was a frequent guest on CNN, Fox News and Fox Business, and an occasional contributor to Breitbart.
Bongino left his position at Fox in early May 2016 to formally endorse Trump and work for his campaign. He joined the Great America PAC as a senior adviser in June 2016. In August, he was named national director of grassroots outreach for Trump’s presidential campaign.
After the election, Bongino began writing a column for “The Hill”. In January 2017, he was hired as a contributor by Newsmax TV. He is also an occasional commentator on Sean Hannity’s shows on Fox News Channel and TalkRadio.
